Today, Evelyne Kasparek and Selina Liu takes you to the conference on Diversity in Engineering which was on Oct 25th to the 27th. This was a conference ran by the students for the students.
Emily Curling, one of the co-chairs of the conference shares some of her insights. 200 delegates from around the country gathered in Downtown Montreal and talked about a wide range of topics in diversity in Engineering.
Diversity in engineering encompasses issues beyond the lack of women in the profession (for more information, check out our first episode on Women in STEM). The conference also focuses on indigenous perspectives and designing spaces for people with disabilities which were highlighted in this episode.
